A tri-script family covering Latin, Arabic and Tifinagh, originally commissioned by the Khatt Foundation as part of a multiscript typographic research programme focused on the Maghrib region.
About
Developed from a Khatt Foundation commission within the Typographic Matchmaking in the Maghrib 3.0 project, Tubqal integrates three scripts into a coherent family of six weights with italics throughout. The design aims to reflect the linguistic diversity of the Maghrib, creating typographic harmony between Latin, Maghribi-based Arabic and the Tifinagh script used for Amazigh languages. The Tifinagh styles are offered free of charge to non-profit associations supporting Amazigh culture.
Classification
Tubqal is a multiscript humanist sans-serif family designed to harmonise Latin, Arabic and Tifinagh scripts within a coherent typographic system, with no apparent serif construction.
