Doves Type Headline specimen from Typespec

An optically adjusted display cut of the revived Doves Press type, drawn lighter and sharper than the Text version for use at sizes above 20 pt.

About

Evolved from work on the Thames Tideway project, this headline cut of Doves Type is lighter and crisper than its text companion, calibrated for titles and headings rather than body copy. The Doves Press type itself was one of the most celebrated faces of the Arts and Crafts movement, and this revival by Robert Green brings it back in a form suited to contemporary display work. Recommended for use above 20 pt, it pairs with Doves Type Text as a properly optically scaled system.

Classification

Based on the historic Doves Press type, itself a revival of a fifteenth-century Venetian roman; the Headline cut is optically adjusted for display sizes, making it a display serif in practical application.
