Laura specimen from Typespec

A narrow humanist grotesque with twelve weights and matching italics, designed by Paul Harpin to raise funds for cancer charities through the BuyFontsSaveLives campaign.

About

Designed by former Haymarket Media Group Creative Director Paul Harpin in memory of his niece, Laura is a narrow grotesque with a large x-height and a hand-drawn quality that sets it apart from mechanically constructed condensed faces. It comes in two sub-families, Plain and Display, each offering twelve weights with matching italics. All proceeds from sales go to Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Classification

Described as a narrow grotesque with humanist qualities, hand-drawn feel and circular punctuation rather than ruler-and-compass construction, placing it between grotesque and humanist sans-serif traditions.
