About
Designed by Matt Willey, former art director at the New York Times and Pentagram partner, NSW 01 uses thick strokes and a compressed form to deliver assertive impact at display sizes. All characters sit at the same height with no ascenders or descenders, creating a dense, unbroken line particularly suited to news and poster work. Version 2.0 was released in late 2020 as part of the BuyFontsSaveLives initiative, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
