Brenner Display specimen from Typotheque

A contemporary fat face within the Brenner superfamily, drawing on 19th-century Bodoni and Didot models for expressive headline work.

About

Part of Nikola Djurek's Brenner superfamily, this Display member revives the fat face tradition while deliberately omitting the ball terminals common to older models, giving it a less formal, more written quality. Two cuts are offered: Black and Stencil Black, both intended for very large settings where the extreme stroke contrast can register fully. It won a Typographica Favourite Typefaces award in 2018 and shares vertical metrics with the rest of the Brenner family, making cross-style combinations straightforward.

Classification

A contemporary fat face in the Bodoni/Didot tradition, characterised by extreme stroke contrast and designed for large headline use. Classified as display due to its explicitly decorative, attention-grabbing purpose at large sizes.
