Klimax
Typotheque · Ondrej Jób · 2009

A conceptually driven display family by Ondrej Jób built around two optical opposites: a monolinear Minus and a counter-heavy Plus, designed to be interchangeable without altering text length.
About
Released by Typotheque in 2009, Klimax pairs two structurally opposed styles whose counters and strokes share identical thicknesses, allowing Plus and Minus to swap within a layout with no reflow. The cursive italics introduce curved stroke endings and protruding terminals, lending a calligraphic warmth that contrasts the geometric rigidity of the uprights. Small caps push the concept further, with Klimax Plus caps reduced to near-abstract geometric solids devoid of inner space.
Classification
Klimax is explicitly designed for extremely large sizes, with two optical-opposite styles (Plus and Minus) built around monolinear and counter-driven geometric construction, placing it firmly in the display category with a geometric conceptual basis.
