Q Project

A modular layering system from Typotheque comprising dozens of interchangeable serif and base components that combine to produce distinct named typefaces such as Armeria, Begonia and Catalpa.
About
Rather than offering weights or widths, Q Project operates as a component library: a set of Base fonts in several structural variants (Thin, Normal, Heavy, Squares, Stencil, Dots) and over thirty Serif layers, each contributing different ornamental detail that sits above or below the base letterforms. Named combinations such as Faucaria (Serif 18, 19, 20 and Base Dots) or Davidia (Serif 04, 05 and Base Stencil) illustrate how the system generates visually distinct display faces from the same underlying architecture. The result is a type system that treats a font family as an open-ended kit rather than a fixed product.
Classification
Q Project is a modular, layerable type system built from interchangeable serif and base components, intended for decorative and display use through combinatorial layering rather than conventional weight or style variation.
