Tremolo Shadow
Typotheque · Nikola Djurek · 2015

A chromatic shadow layer system extracted from the broader Tremolo family, designed by Nikola Djurek for multi-colour typesetting with interlocking top and bottom styles.
About
Part of Typotheque's Tremolo collection, the Shadow system splits each letterform into discrete top and bottom layer fonts that register together to produce cast-shadow effects in two colours. The underlying design is narrow and eclectic, drawing on cursive calligraphy, brush lettering and condensed blackletter to produce a voice that shifts from austere to playful depending on context. Released in 2015 and recognised with a TDC Typographic Excellence award in 2016, it suits editorial headings, posters and any setting where chromatic type is wanted.
Classification
Tremolo Shadow is a display typeface system built for chromatic typography, with separate top and bottom layer styles that combine to produce three-dimensional shadow effects. Its eclectic character draws on cursive calligraphy, brush lettering and condensed blackletter, placing it firmly in the display category.
