Nimbus Roman is URW's metric-compatible substitute for Times New Roman, created as part of the core PostScript font equivalents that URW developed during the early digital era. The family offers seven styles across Regular, Bold and Extra Bold weights with corresponding italics. The open-source variant, Nimbus Roman No9 L, ships with Ghostscript and Linux distributions as a standard Times substitute.
