Created for Black History Month 2020 in partnership with The Art of Blackness, the typeface takes its letterforms from the signage of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's 1966 Chicago Freedom Movement, the campaign that pushed civil rights activism into northern American cities. A single Black weight reflects the monumental, declarative quality of protest graphics. Available as a free download, with the option to support Vocal Type financially.
