Designed by David Súid, Cassius takes the structural logic of a Garaldes serif and reworks it through inverted anatomy and projected terminals to produce something with a distinctive rhythmic character. The family runs from Regular to Black across ten upright and italic styles, with a variable font available for each axis. OpenType features include small caps, old-style figures, ligatures, fractions and case-sensitive punctuation, making it well suited to book and magazine composition.
Classification
The foundry places Cassius within the Garaldes family, a branch of old-style serifs rooted in Renaissance letterforms. Its inverted anatomy and projected terminals give it a postmodern inflection while retaining the broad structural logic of a garalde.
