Human Max specimen from W Type Foundry

A display revival of Max Bill's experimental 'study for a typeface for machines and humans', adapted by David Súid with a contemporary geometric finish across seven weights.

About

Based on Max Bill's original typographic study, the design has been reworked into a functional display system with stylistic alternates, ligatures and extended punctuation to aid readability in complex settings. It shares proportional DNA with W Type Foundry's Hofmann Grotesk, positioning the two as complementary faces within a broader geometric tradition. Seven weights from Thin to Black make it suited to editorial and identity work where a Bauhaus-adjacent geometric voice is required.

Classification

Explicitly presented as a Display option, Human Max is a geometric sans revival derived from Max Bill's experimental typeface study, with contemporary geometric refinements and alternate characters distinguishing it from standard text use.
