About
Sonny Gothic V.2 reworks its predecessor by softening all corners to produce a warmer, more approachable texture across nine weights from Thin to Ultrablack, each with an italic. The ligature system is a central feature, building on Avant Garde's approach with new combinations designed specifically to manage the white space between rounded letterforms such as FL, FB and FR. OpenType features include alternate characters, small caps, fractions, arrows and extended language support, making it well suited to advertising and graphic design contexts.
Classification
A geometric sans in the tradition of Avant Garde, with softened corners giving it a rounded, friendly character while retaining the ligature-driven rhythm of its predecessor.
