Lausanne specimen from WELTKERN

A Swiss grotesque by Nizar Kazan offering 20 weights from 50 to 1000, each with a matching italic, and coverage across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts.

About

Designed by Swiss designer Nizar Kazan and published through WELTKERN, Lausanne works in 50-unit weight increments from hairline to ultra-black, giving designers unusually fine control over typographic colour. The script coverage across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek makes it practical for multilingual editorial and fashion work, as evidenced in the specimen copy referencing brands such as Post Archive Faction and Coperni. Its neutrality sits comfortably in both screen interfaces and print contexts.

Classification

Lausanne is a Swiss grotesque in the tradition of neutral European sans-serifs, designed by Swiss designer Nizar Kazan with an exceptionally granular weight axis spanning 50 to 1000 in 50-unit increments.
