Craft specimen from Writtenshape

A monocase display typeface inspired by ancient wooden titling characters, where all glyphs sit within the x-height and link together to form continuous words.

About

Designed by Benoît Brun and Raphaël de La Morinerie, it draws on the heritage of wood type while departing from conventional letterform construction: every glyph is contained within the x-height and connects seamlessly to its neighbours. Accents extend above the x-height and below the baseline to preserve readability without disrupting the monocase logic. Available in two styles, upright and italic, with OpenType options to customise the connecting behaviour.

Classification

Craft is a display typeface inspired by ancient wooden titling characters, with a monocase construction where all glyphs are contained within the x-height and connect to one another, placing it firmly in the display category with a rustic, experimental character.
