Adlibitum specimen from Zetafonts

A geometric reinterpretation of medieval textura blackletter, built from 45-degree angles and softened corners across three weights.

About

Designed by Francesco Canovaro in 2015, Adlibitum takes the strong vertical rhythm of textura blackletter and recasts it with strict geometric construction, 45-degree angles and soft round corners. Three weights, Light through Bold, cover 197 languages via an extended Latin character set of 407 glyphs. OpenType ligature support and broad diacritic coverage make it serviceable for European-language display work.

Classification

Adlibitum is explicitly described as a contemporary restyling of old textura medieval script characters, placing it firmly in the blackletter/textura tradition, albeit with a geometric and angular modernisation.
