Arsenica Narrows
Zetafonts · Francesco Canovaro · 2024

A condensed extension of the Arsenica family drawing on early 20th-century Italian poster lettering, offered across six subfamilies with narrow and condensed widths in seven weights.
About
Designed by Francesco Canovaro with contributions from Filippo Sgarlata, the family takes its cues from the poster art of Giorgio Muggiani, whose lettering appeared on campaigns for Cinzano and Pirelli alongside Art Nouveau and Deco visual idioms. Six subfamilies span Narrow and Condensed widths, each available from Thin to Extrabold with italics, alongside upright-only Alt cuts and the Antiqua variant; two variable fonts cover weight and optical size axes. Coverage extends to over 200 languages across Latin, Cyrillic and Greek scripts.
Classification
Low-contrast Old Style proportions with vintage Italian poster art influences, condensed and narrow cuts that retain humanist serif characteristics drawn from early 20th-century lettering traditions.
