Blacker Mono
Zetafonts · Francesco Canovaro, Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini · 2022

A monospaced serif drawn from the Blacker Pro family, transplanting its sharp 'evil serif' aesthetic into a typewriter-style format with three optical sizes and extreme display weights.
About
Developed for the 2022 editorial project A Beautiful Mistake by OFFF TLV, it adapts the Blacker Pro letterforms for fixed-width use by modifying only the serifs rather than distorting the underlying skeletons, producing an uneven rhythm unusual in monospaced type. Nine static styles run from Light to Heavy, with two alternate roman cuts and a variable font covering both weight and optical size axes. The full OpenType feature set carries over from Blacker Pro, including small caps, positional numerals and stylistic alternates, making it as well-equipped for complex editorial layouts as for code environments.
Classification
A monospaced typeface with pronounced bracketed serifs derived from the Blacker Pro display serif family, sitting firmly in the mono category while retaining strong serif character. Its extreme display weights and optical sizes push it towards editorial rather than purely utilitarian coding use.
