Calvino Arabic
Zetafonts · Andrea Tartarelli · 2024

The Arabic counterpart to Zetafonts' Calvino family, blending traditional Arabic calligraphic rhythm with a clean, modern editorial voice across four weights and matching italics.
About
Designed by Andrea Tartarelli and released in 2024, Calvino Arabic draws on Italo Calvino's Six Memos for the Next Millennium as a conceptual framework, aiming for clarity and fluidity in equal measure. The family runs to eight styles from Regular to Extrabold with italic companions, supported by two variable fonts covering weight axes in both roman and italic. Coverage spans Arabic, Latin and Cyrillic across 205 languages and 2031 glyphs, with OpenType features including old-style figures, fractions and stylistic sets.
Classification
A multi-script humanist sans spanning Arabic and Latin, designed with calligraphic fluidity balanced against modern clarity; the Arabic forms honour traditional calligraphy while aligning with the contemporary proportions of the Latin Calvino family.
