Codec Pro ME
Zetafonts · Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, Francesco Canovaro, Andrea Tartarelli, Oded Ezer, Omaima Dajani · 2024

A Middle Eastern extension of Codec Pro covering Arabic and Hebrew scripts across eleven weights, developed with specialist collaborators Oded Ezer and Omaima Dajani.
About
Built on the geometric sans foundation of Codec Pro, first drawn in 2017 by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Francesco Canovaro, this extension adds Arabic and Hebrew coverage across 1718 glyphs and 217 languages. The Hebrew was designed by Oded Ezer and the Arabic developed in consultation with Omaima Dajani, with the team drawing on advice from Pascal Zoghbi of 29LT to avoid imposing Latin structural logic onto non-Latin scripts. Eleven weights from Thin to Fat are available as static fonts and as a variable weight axis.
Classification
Codec Pro ME is a geometric sans-serif extending the 2017 Codec Pro design with Arabic and Hebrew scripts; its construction follows the modernist geometric tradition adapted carefully for non-Latin writing systems.
