Lovelace specimen from Zetafonts

A 30-style Victorian Old Style revival in two optical sizes plus a connected script, named after Ada Lovelace and drawing on Phemister, Elzevir and calligraphic traditions.

About

Designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, Andrea Tartarelli and Mariachiara Fantini, it revives nineteenth-century Old Style letterforms with calligraphic curves and angled serifs, consciously stepping away from the rigidity of Bodonian models. Two optical sizes split the workload: the Text subfamily prioritises generous x-height and screen legibility, while the Display cuts favour high contrast and fine detailing suited to editorial headlines. A separate Script subfamily with swashes and connected lowercase adds a third register, and all 30 styles cover 208 languages across Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

Classification

Described by Zetafonts as a revival of nineteenth-century Old Style typography, drawing on Renaissance calligraphic letterforms and Elzevir revival styles, with calligraphic curves and angled serifs in the tradition of Phemister and Alexander Kay.
