Designed in 2020 by Andrea Tartarelli, Malik draws on the Simoncini Method and the calligraphic sensibility of Frederic Goudy and Ed Benguiat, producing details such as a reverse-contrast uppercase B and a calligraphic lowercase k. The family spans eight weights from Extralight to Heavy, all with true italics, plus a Book weight for fine-tuning text density and a Heavy cut with deep inktraps suited to logo work. Variable fonts for both upright and italic, small capitals, old-style figures and Cyrillic support across 218 languages round out a well-equipped 16-style family.
