Mayson Arabic
Zetafonts · Francesco Canovaro · 2025

A humanist sans by Francesco Canovaro that takes Arabic calligraphic conventions as a starting point for shaping its Latin letterforms.
About
Canovaro used the texture and nib-rotation logic of Arabic script to inform the Latin side of this family, resulting in fluid, open shapes that retain a calligraphic warmth without serif detail. The design is monolinear with low contrast, available in seven weights from Thin to Extrabold plus a variable font, covering 1,102 glyphs across 212 languages in both Arabic and Latin. It sits comfortably in editorial, branding and digital work where a contemporary bilingual voice is required.
Classification
A monolinear humanist sans with low contrast, drawing on Arabic calligraphic conventions such as sharp nib rotation angles and fluid curves to inform the Latin letterforms.
