Milligram Arabic
Zetafonts · Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini, Murad Alshawareb · 2025

An Arabic companion to Milligram, drawn through the lens of Naskh script to create a bilingual sans-serif system for editorial and complex design work.
About
Designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini with Jordanian type designer Murad Alshawareb, Milligram Arabic approaches Arabic script not by matching Latin shapes but by preserving Naskh rhythm and proportions while simplifying contrast and terminals. Seven weights from Thin to Heavy are available alongside a variable font, covering 207 languages across Latin and Arabic. The family pairs with the 106-style Latin Milligram to form a coherent bilingual system designed as a whole rather than a pairing of separately conceived typefaces.
Classification
A sans-serif rooted in Naskh script traditions, prioritising texture and readability over rigid geometric equivalence with simplified contrast and terminals. Designed as an Arabic companion to the Latin Milligram grotesque.
