Stadio Now Deva specimen from Zetafonts

A Devanagari extension of Aldo Novarese's reverse contrast Stadio design, adapted by Shrishti Vajpai to bridge Latin and Indic scripts for display use.

About

Shrishti Vajpai extended the quirky reverse contrast skeleton of Stadio, originally designed by Novarese for rub transfers and digitised in 2020, into Devanagari across six weights from Extralight to Extrabold with a variable font axis. The adaptation follows the Latin revival work by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli, aiming to carry Novarese's vernacular energy into Hindic scripts. It suits headline typography, branding, editorial and packaging where attention-grabbing display setting in Devanagari is needed.

Classification

The typeface carries a reverse contrast skeleton derived from Aldo Novarese's original Stadio design, adapted for Devanagari script. Its strong horizontal-to-vertical contrast inversion and headline-oriented construction firmly place it in the display category.
