About
Designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli with Arabic collaboration from Rania Azmi, this typeface carries the idiosyncratic character of the original Tarif into Arabic letterforms. The inverted contrast and unconventional proportions that define the Latin version are reinterpreted through the fluid connections of Arabic script, resulting in a design suited to titling, logos and display use. A variable weight axis and extensive OpenType features including ligatures, alternate characters and multiple numeral sets round out the family.
Classification
A sans-serif with humanist proportions and inverted contrast, adapting the quirky postmodern character of the Latin Tarif into Arabic script forms.
