Grot12 Normal specimen from A2-Type

The standard-width cut of A2-Type's three-part grotesque family, drawn from the Stephenson Blake Grotesque series of the Industrial Revolution.

About

Part of a 42-style system spanning Condensed, Normal and Extended widths, this normal-width sub-family runs from Thin to Black with matching italics across seven weights. The reference point is the Stephenson Blake grotesque series, giving the design a characteristically British flavour rooted in nineteenth-century industrial print culture. It follows Grot10, A2-Type's earlier grotesque released in 2010, and functions well across editorial, identity and display contexts where historical British grotesque texture is wanted.

Classification

Directly inspired by the Stephenson Blake Grotesque series of the Industrial Revolution era, placing it firmly in the British grotesque tradition alongside its condensed and extended siblings.
