Ny. Slab Tower
A2-Type · Gail Bichler, Matt Willey

A pair of special-edition condensed slab serifs commissioned for The New York Times Magazine, each pushing vertical exaggeration further than the last.
About
Ny. Slab Tower and Ny. Slab Skyscraper were commissioned by art directors Gail Bichler and Matt Willey for The New York Times Magazine, extending the Ny. Slab family into increasingly tall, narrow display territory. Tower is a condensed upright of Ny. Slab; Skyscraper takes that compression to a more extreme ratio. Both are available in Black only, suited to large-scale editorial headlines where vertical rhythm and column-fitting matter.
Classification
A tall, condensed slab serif with an exaggerated vertical proportion, designed specifically for editorial display use in The New York Times Magazine. Ny. Slab Skyscraper pushes the condensation further still.
