Ny. Slab Skyscraper
A2-Type · A2-Type

An ultra-condensed display slab serif commissioned by The New York Times Magazine, taken further than its sister cut Ny. Slab Tower for maximum vertical exaggeration.
About
Designed for The New York Times Magazine at the commission of Gail Bichler and Matt Willey, Ny. Slab Skyscraper is the most extreme variant in the Ny. Slab sub-family. It takes the proportions of Ny. Slab Tower and pushes them further still, producing a tall, tightly compressed slab suited to large-scale headlines and poster settings. Available in a single Black weight, it is a specialist cut built for moments where vertical drama is the editorial intent.
Classification
An extreme ultra-condensed slab serif designed for display use at large sizes, part of a family of editorial serifs created for The New York Times Magazine. Its highly exaggerated proportions place it firmly in the display slab subcategory.
