Ny. Slab Sans
A2-Type · Henrik Kubel · 2015

A sans-serif companion to the Ny. Slab, sharing its proportions and nine-weight range, drawn for the 2015 redesign of The New York Times Magazine.
About
Part of the broader Ny. family designed by Henrik Kubel for The New York Times Magazine, the Slab Sans strips away the slab serifs whilst keeping the underlying structure and weight range intact. Nine weights from Thin to Black allow a consistent typographic texture alongside the serifed variants in the same system. The tighter setting makes it a practical choice for editorial contexts where the Slab Serif's feel is wanted without the additional stroke detail.
Classification
Ny. Slab Sans removes the serifs from the Ny. Slab Serif while retaining its proportions and weight range, placing it as a sans-serif companion within a slab-rooted family system originally designed for editorial use.
