Fabbrica specimen from CAST

A geometric sans by Michele Patanè with an industrial character, offered in rounded and sharp-cornered variants across eight weights.

About

Designed by Michele Patanè and developed between 2019 and 2022, Fabbrica takes its name from the Italian word for factory and draws on industrial production as a formal reference. The family splits into two variants: Fabbrica with rounded corners for a warmer feel, and Fabbrica Sharp with hard corners suited to high-contrast headlines or compensating for optical rounding at small sizes. Sixteen styles in total, from Thin to ExtraBold with matching italics, alongside a generous set of OpenType alternates including constructed style, streamlined uppercases and circled figures.

Classification

Fabbrica uses squared curves, even proportions and technical-geometric letterforms consistent with the geometric sans-serif genre, with an industrial character distinguishing it from purely humanist or grotesque approaches.
