ABC Ginto
Dinamo Typefaces · Seb McLauchlan · 2018

A geometric-humanist sans by Seb McLauchlan that plays circular against rectangular, drawn from twentieth-century sans research and 1950s and 1960s phototype.
About
A geometric-humanist sans by London-based Seb McLauchlan, developed during research into twentieth-century sans-serif typefaces and the shift from Modernist purity to the more baroque, animated phototypesetting styles of the 1950s and 1960s. The system has two sister families. Ginto is compact and poised, with weights from Thin to Ultra, while Ginto Nord raises x-height and widens characters for chunky display use, with weights from Hairline to Ultra. Both come in standard and Condensed widths, and Ginto's identity work for Discord and others has made it a staple of contemporary brand systems.
Classification
Dinamo describes ABC Ginto as an exuberant geometric-humanist typeface that plays the tension between circular and rectangular forms, remixing strict twentieth-century Modernist purity with the more baroque, animated phototypesetting styles of the 1950s and 1960s.
