ABC Whyte specimen from Dinamo Typefaces

A contemporary grotesque in six subfamilies including a variable Inktrap axis, mono and semi-mono cuts, across Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hangul and Hebrew.

About

A contemporary grotesque by Dinamo (Fabian Harb and Johannes Breyer, with Erkin Karamemet and Fabiola Mejia) with idiosyncrasies and character. The system splits into Whyte (smooth and sharp transitions) and Whyte Inktrap (ink traps at joints), and via variable font technology users can deepen or shorten the ink traps for the first time, sliding from deep wells to shorter cuts. Six subfamilies cover Whyte, Inktrap, Mono, Mono Inktrap, Semi-Mono and Semi-Mono Inktrap, each with ten weights from Thin to Super and matching italics. Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hangul and Hebrew are supported, with Hangul, Japanese and Chinese pairings recommended.

Classification

Dinamo describe Whyte as a contemporary grotesque typeface filled with idiosyncrasies and character. Whyte has smooth and sharp transitions; Whyte Inktrap has ink traps at its joints, with variable-axis control to deepen or shorten them.
