Calibre specimen from Klim Type Foundry

A crisp neo-grotesk drawn from West Berlin signage and Nebiolo's Recta, optically corrected for screens, identity and tech.

About

A neo-grotesque by Kris Sowersby drawn from lettering on West Berlin street signs, with the rationality of Nebiolo's Recta tempered by optical correction. Calibre was designed alongside Metric and shares its underlying geometry, but key letterforms take a more contemporary, crisp finish. Fourteen styles run from Thin to Black with matching italics, which is why Calibre keeps showing up in tech, fintech and product brands wanting a calm, engineered sans without the chill of pure geometry.

Classification

Klim classifies it as Modern: Lineal/Neo-grotesque; a neo-grotesk inspired by lettering on West Berlin street signs, taking rationality from Nebiolo's Recta and applying optical correction to the engineer's geometry.
