Mānuka Slab
Klim Type Foundry · Kris Sowersby · 2021

The slab partner to Mānuka Condensed, compressed and rooted in Teutonic timber type, running Thin to Ultra for display work.
About
A compressed slab by Kris Sowersby that takes Mānuka's antipodean reading of 19th century Teutonic timber type and adds slab serifs. Seven upright weights run from Thin to Ultra with stylistic alternates for a and R, no italics. Pairs naturally with Mānuka Condensed inside the same collection, and earns its keep on posters, packaging and editorial display where the texture needs to feel hand-cut rather than digital.
Classification
Klim classifies it as Modern: Slab-Serif; the slab cut of the Mānuka collection, sharing compressed proportions and Teutonic timber-type details with Mānuka Condensed.
