The Future
Klim Type Foundry · Kris Sowersby · 2022

A Futura homage drawn from Renner's production drawings, with seven weights, true italics and a deep set of avant-garde alternates.
About
A geometric sans by Kris Sowersby, built from Paul Renner's original production drawings rather than the many later interpretations of Futura. Seven weights from Thin to Black run with italics, and the stylistic sets carry the avant-garde alternate forms (square m, n, r, alt a and g) that Renner sketched but didn't ship. Sits alongside The Future Mono in the same family, and works for editorial, modernist branding and exhibition design where Futura's shape is the brief but the historical baggage isn't.
Classification
Klim classifies it as Geometric sans-serif; a homage to Futura drawn from Paul Renner's original production drawings, articulating his musings on modernity, abstraction and purity.
