sans-serifhumanist sansitalic
Enra Sans specimen from Lettermin

A humanist sans conceived to balance technical precision with warmth, available in eight weights with italics and a variable font, covering Latin Extended including Vietnamese.

About

Originally sketched in the early 2010s and substantially redrawn before release, Enra Sans sits within a three-member system alongside Enra Slab and Enra Semi, all sharing a common skeleton with harmonised weights. Its large x-height, generous counters and open apertures keep text readable at small sizes, while the squarish structure holds well on screen. Selective serifs on capital I, J and lowercase i, j and l aid disambiguation, with stylistic sets allowing their removal for a more conventional appearance.

Classification

Described as a hybrid of technical and human qualities, with a large x-height, open apertures and narrow proportions characteristic of humanist sans design. The selective use of serifs on I, J, i, j and l for legibility reinforces its functional, reader-oriented character.
