LL Ivory Mono Var
Lineto · Aurèle Sack · 2023

A monospaced variable cut of Aurèle Sack's serif family, originally commissioned for Vogue Hommes Paris and rooted in 19th-century American wood type.
About
LL Ivory began as a titling commission for Vogue Hommes Paris in 2016, drawing on American wood type and poster fonts before Sack's strict grid-based method pushed it into its own distinct territory. The Mono Var subset brings three monospaced cuts into a variable format, pairing the family's sturdy, low-contrast serifs and geometric construction with the fixed-width spacing more common to code or editorial contexts. Developed over several years and tested across art catalogues, magazines and identities, the family has the surgically precise quality characteristic of Sack's work at NORM and beyond.
Classification
Rooted in 19th-century American wood type and poster fonts, LL Ivory is a high-contrast serif with pronounced shapes; the Mono Var cut extends the family into monospaced territory while retaining the same geometric rigour and sturdy character.
