Cut and Cut Square each come in Light, Regular and Bold weights, available in OpenType and web font formats. The design draws on two historically distant sources: the extreme vertical stroke contrast of late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century neoclassical types, and the modular geometric construction methods of early twentieth-century experimental alphabets. By dissolving hairline cross-strokes into open spaces, the letterforms are broken into discrete segments that retain legibility whilst exposing their rational, reductive structure.
