New Hero Italic specimen from Newlyn

A geometric sans designed for wayfinding and civic communication, covering Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and Georgian across ten weights.

About

Developed over nine years, New Hero pairs clean functional geometry with subtle elegance, characterised by vertical terminals on the C, S and their lowercase counterparts, and a slightly narrow m. The family spans ten weights from Hairline to Super, includes small caps across all supported scripts, and carries Granshan Awards for its Cyrillic and Greek designs. An optional Accessibility Set modifies key characters to meet W3C compliance guidelines, making it practical for broadcast, UI and public signage work.

Classification

New Hero is a geometric sans-serif built around functional geometry with clean vertical terminals and a slightly narrow m, placing it clearly in the geometric sans tradition. Its civic wayfinding application and avoidance of stylistic quirks align it with rational, utility-driven geometric designs.
