About
Designed by Cyrus Highsmith and released in 2005, Zócalo Display draws on Nicholas Kis's oldstyle models filtered through Highsmith's impressions of México. It was created as part of Eduardo Danilo's editorial redesign of El Universal, one of Mexico City's leading newspapers, and is tuned for headlines and decks with a sparkling, tight character. The family spans four weights from Regular to Black, each with an italic, and sits alongside optical-size companions Zócalo Text and Zócalo Banner.

Zócalo Display is an oldstyle serif inspired by Nicholas Kis's historical models, adapted for headline use with compact proportions and high contrast suited to display sizes.
