About
Originally conceived to evoke the tactile quality of Oldenburg's soft sculptures, the alphabet was cut by Crouwel from pink paper and later digitised by The Foundry following a 1996 collaboration agreement with the designer. The letterforms sit on a strict grid yet carry a rounded, padded character entirely at odds with Crouwel's usual geometric precision, making this one of the more unexpected pieces in the Architype collection.
