About
Designed in 2019 and released in 2022, Bart grew from a visual identity pitch for the Opera of Strasbourg and spans Text, Normal and Display subfamilies, each in four weights with italics. Strong stroke contrast is paired with right-angled cut drops, square dots and wire elements to give the family a contemporary edge over its classical structure. OpenType features include four figure sets, small capitals, stylistic alternates and an extensive range of circled and framed numerals.
Classification
Bart combines Oldstyle, Transitional and Neoclassical serif elements, with strong stroke contrast and refined detail. The foundry explicitly describes this blend across three optical contrast variants.
