Spot Grotesk specimen from Schick Toikka

Spot's proportional flavour: a typewriter-derived sans in four weights with italics, with the Mono's warmth but without fixed character widths.

About

Spot Grotesk is the proportionally spaced flavour of the Spot family. It carries Spot Mono's appeal of provisionality, austerity and authenticity, including the uniform stroke width, rounded ends, distinctive dots and large x-height, but trades fixed character widths for proportional rhythm. Four weights from Light to Bold with matching italics suit body copy, captions and marginalia in small sizes and friendly display work at larger sizes. It pairs with Spot Mono and Spot Semi-Mono, and a Spot variable font ties all three with weight, slant and spacing axes.

Classification

The proportionally spaced flavour of Spot, sharing the family's typewriter origins (uniform stroke width, rounded ends, distinctive dots, wide proportions, large x-height) without fixed character widths.
