Spot Semi-Mono specimen from Schick Toikka

Spot's hybrid flavour: a semi-monospaced typewriter-derived sans in four weights with italics, sitting between the proportional Grotesk and fixed-pitch Mono.

About

Spot Semi-Mono is the hybrid flavour of Spot, sitting between the proportional Spot Grotesk and the fixed-pitch Spot Mono. It keeps the family's uniform stroke width, rounded ends, distinctive dots and large x-height while widening narrow glyphs partway towards Mono proportions, useful for tabular layouts that still need rhythm. Four weights from Light to Bold with matching italics, Latin Extended language coverage, sub- and superscripts, fractions and a kit of icons round it out, and a Spot variable font ties Grotesk, Semi-Mono and Mono on a continuous spacing axis.

Classification

The hybrid between Spot Grotesk and Spot Mono; the foundry describe instances between the Grotesk and the Semi Mono in the variable font as producing tiny stubs on narrow glyphs that grow into wide bars in the Mono.
