ION B
Setup Type · Ondrej Jób · 2010

A modular display typeface built on the 7-segment LCD display matrix, available in 11 styles from Thin to an ultra-heavy Cells variant.
About
Constructed from the grid of a classic 7-segment LCD display, ION B offers ten weights from Thin to Black alongside a special Cells style containing containers and boxes for compositional use. The family sits within the ION collection alongside condensed ION A and wide ION C, each sharing the same construction logic. With no stroke contrast and a large x-height, it covers over 100 languages through Basic and Extended Latin, with OpenType features including stylistic sets, discretionary ligatures and fractions.
Classification
ION B is explicitly modular and constructed, based on the 7-segment LCD display matrix. Its geometric, no-contrast, narrow construction places it firmly in the display/experimental category rather than any conventional sans-serif classification.
