Parmigiano Text is the running-text cut of a larger optical-size system that spans Caption, Piccolo, Text and Headline, each tuned to its intended size range in the manner of classical punchcutter practice. Six weights from Thin to Black are provided, each with a matching italic, and a variable font is also available. The Bodoni lineage gives it high contrast and fine detail, while the text-specific optical corrections make it workable in newspaper and editorial settings where a straight Bodoni revival would fall apart.
Classification
Parmigiano is a Bodoni-inspired serif system; the Text subfamily is optimised for running text at smaller sizes, placing it within the transitional to neoclassical serif tradition following high-contrast Italian models.
