Lateral Compressed
Schick Toikka · Florian Schick, Lauri Toikka

The Compressed width of Lateral: a tight neo-grotesque cut with straight-sided rounds, in seven weights with italics.
About
Lateral Compressed is one of the seven widths in the Lateral superfamily. At this point along the width axis the flat segments at curve extremes become clearly visible, giving the cut its straight-sided rounds and a brutalist edge. Seven weights from Thin to Black with matching italics suit display work where horizontal economy matters, and the cut connects to Ultra Compressed and Condensed on the width axis and to the Standard, Extended, Expanded and Ultra Wide widths through the variable font.
Classification
The Compressed width within the seven-width Lateral system; flat curve segments yield straight-sided rounds at compressed widths.
